I knew to put the hit boiled eggs into the ice water and what the results are but not why. Thank you for taking the time to share those tidbits of information. It helps the information stick in my mind. 🙂

I’m not an expert by any means, but I have found an almost foolproof method and slightly easier method to cook and peel hardboil eggs. It’s worth a try!

    1. Get water boiling. Eggs from the fridge or counter doesn’t matter.

    2. Set eggs in carefully one by one with the spoon. Make sure all eggs are under water. Put the lid on and bring it back to a very fast boil.

    3. Shut the burner off and set timer for 15 mins. Drain the eggs, then carefully put the lid on the pan and shake the daylights out of it to crack all the eggs.

    4. Cover the eggs with cold water and ice, and try to peel them immediately after they’re chilled for a good peel.

The peels usually slip right off the egg, regardless of age, fresh vs store bought, batch size, etc. I haven’t perfected a homegrown version of mayo either, but you’ve inspired me to keep trying. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us ❤️

So how many eggs did you lose to snackers, before they got to the table? 😊
