Thanksgiving: The American Tradition Every African Is Happy to Be a Part of.

Before coming to America, I had no idea what Thanksgiving was. But since arriving, my family and I have always celebrated it as if it were our own history. We have BIG feasts, inviting cousins, aunts, friends, and more to our house.

We never served the traditional Thanksgiving dishes (like stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied yams) in our home; instead, we had traditional Cameroonian food plus the turkey!

I love making the turkey every year because it’s such a statement piece… and I’m a statement girl! Lol. Every year, I find a new way to prepare the turkey and try different recipes. My goal is to make it as flavorful as possible so even those who don’t ‘usually like turkey’ can rave about how delicious mine is. 😅

I made three of these this Thanksgiving season! It’s a blessing to have been a part of three different homes this season! 🥹
