I need some easy dinners on-hand, so I’m pressure canning one jar meals to restock my pantry. I’ll share some of my favorite canning meals in a jar recipes, including ball canning one jar meals and rebel canning meals in a jar. I love how quickly the raw pack meals come together. I’ll also show how to use the Nesco/Carey Digital Canner.

We had the kung pao chicken last night and I really liked the sauce. What do you turn to when you need a convenient meal?

What is the size of your jar?

Yes, the meat releases its juices, but you will not get more volume in the jar as the meat shrinks as it juices out! The biggest problem you’re going to have is using dry beans as they will swell as they hydrate, which is why all approved recipes precook them for a time so that they are less likely to become too big while canning and possibly bursting the jars! I have canned both dry and precooked as the approved recipes call for, and honestly, I like the precooked better, as I don’t seem to have half-filled jars when I use the precooked beans.
